Money Matters
Hello, Hello! Seeing that my previous post still was able to fetch about 3 users, means that not all my readers have disappeared. Which I guess, brings me back to the time I promised that I would continue to write even as long as I have 1 reader.
Hence, here I am. It has been tough to continuously ensure that I am at least writing a single post in a year. Why? Because no one told me back when that being a grown up isn't always the most time efficient process. Because, really, work takes up about 70% of your waking hours and this does not include travelling time. No one told me that and I'm still mad about it.
But anywho, I have been thinking about the idea of retirement. In specifics, retiring early. I've been a fan of American YouTube channels such as the Financial Diet (TFD), I've been into minimalism and the MariKondo method as well, which must I remind that the Marie Kondo method is not synonymous to minimalism.
I may or may not have written about minimalism, but in my third year at University, I was recovering from severe depression which was a side effect from a drug that was prescribed to me. During this time, I actually learnt more about minimalism, adopting a more zero waste lifestyle and also stumbled upon Marie Kondo's book, "The Art of Tidying Up". This really improved my mood, because when you're depressed, you really don't want to make the effort to do anything, and you oftentimes than not, find yourself in a pile, whether it be a pile of rubbish, things that you took, but never bothered to put it back into place or even just a pile of fresh laundry, which of course after some time, cannot be classified as clean laundry although have never been worn.
I found myself in this perpetual situation of helplessness and at one point I found myself leeching off the sympathy of others, which felt satisfying and I actually felt very sorry for myself. I then found myself hiding away from people and I found myself having a really flaky personality. But, after discovering these combination of the Marie Kondo method, minimalism, the zero waste lifestyle and just in general, trying to maintain a better financial situation, I saw my mood improve dramatically and it has been up till now.
I'm actually really good with money, I'm good at saving, not yet investing, it's something that I'm currently looking into. Especially (not sponsored here) Rakuten Trade, because of how little time it takes to set up an account, the minimal fees charged as well as the option to connect your AirAsia Big account to potentially earn points which can be converted into BIG points which you can use to take money off your flights (which really, I have not used).
Moving on, I find this topic very interesting and I really want to dive into it with you all.
I am about to have a change in my life and I think that this is the best time to do it and I think that going on this journey with you guys in my life will be great and beneficial as I would be able to talk you through my thought process as I go along.
This is my second official post of the year, so, well done to me. hey hey..
I'm thinking of creating a YouTube video, but really am not too sure if I should because I am not sure if I should.
But that's a thought for another day. I'm going to create bite sized information with a better thought process moving on.
Till my next post. xx
